This video is from a Lisa Fernandez coaches clinic, and is on how to hit the change up.
I hope it helps

This is a great question!!
My daughter has this problem of either lunging at the ball or getting froze by that pitch. What can we do to help this?

Hitting a change up i was just told to wait, wait, wait, and wait some more.
What are some drills that are good for learning timing on change ups?

Here's what I teach my girls. Don't start your swing until you've taken your step. Take your step when the ball is being released. If you see yellow when it's released it's a fastball. If you don't see yellow, it's a change-up (the pitcher's hand is upside down). So don't judge the speed of the ball, judge the pitcher's hand to determine the speed of the ball. If you see fastball take a normal step. If you see change-up take a higher step and thereby starting your swing later. You see this all the time in Major League baseball.
