OfflineI was surprised today when I read that Jennie Finch had retired from USA Softball.
You can read the full story here. http://www.fastpitch.us/jennie…..-from-usa/

OfflineGreat question softballchick. There was a Dot Richardson, then there was a Lisa Fernandez, then there was a Jennie Finch. Someone will step up because the talent pool is just deep and is filled with so many amazing young women who love this game and are filled with great character.
My initial gut reaction tells me it is going to be Jessica Mendoza. Jess has worked a lot already with Back Softball through the ISF and I know her heart is to get it back in to the Olympics. However, Jessica is in nearly the same position as Jennie is, in that she has a baby who is now 1 year old.
Monica Abbott has certainly stepped up over the past few years and has become one of (if not) the most dominant pitchers in the world. She is very shy, but is working hard to overcome her shyness and who knows this may become her moment to shine to the entire world.
If you got to watch the USA Features team in action, then I'm sure you were as impressed as I was that the pool is just fool of talented, exciting players.
Of course it just may be you. Do you like to travel and have your picture taken?
