This week we bring you part 1 of University of Louisville Assistant coach Courtney Scott's Clinic on Catchers.

Courtney Scott begins her softball catching clinic with stance and making sure that there is BALANCE when a catcher sets for each pitch. Next, she explains framing the pitch, but always receiving the pitch and not reaching for it. To help with keeping low and movement to receiving the ball Courtney describes a Paddle Glove Drill. With blocking being one of the most important duties of a catcher Courtney stresses the importance of leading with your glove and using your body to stop the ball at all costs with out losing position to react to possible base runners in the softball.
