For episode 245 I bring you Part One of Carol Bruggeman’s session from SoftballCon in Louisville, KY as she talks to coaches about organizing practices.
Carol asks coaches “what do you want your players to take from practice?” Players should feel prepared for their upcoming games, they should have fun, and they should feel like it was productive. All of which leads to feeling confident, encouraged and motivated. This should be your end goal and design practices accordingly.

Every player should take one improvement away from each practice. What do you want to say about your team? If someone were to watch your practice what would they say about your fastpitch softball team?

Carol recommends utilizing your staff, know their strengths and how to use them. Coaches must know the rules, the fundamentals, strategies and the latest trends/options.

Tune it to this episode for tips and all the necessary information to consider when organizing your practices as well as how to work your team effectively.
