This drill is a great way for players that are having trouble rotating their hips to gain more movement.
Place a ball on a tee at about hip height.
Have the batter position her bat behind her lower back and take a normal batting stance and then pivot her hips and knock the ball off the tee with the bat.
Then place the tee at the desired impact point (for inside and outside pitches) and have the batter continue to pivot and knock off the ball, but in the different ball positions for technique in hitting these pitches.
