The Coach Patty Gasso Interview – Produced By Gary Leland
This week I am joined by Oklahoma Head Coach Gasso from The University Of Oklahoma.
Fastpitch Softball Coach Patty Gasso first got involved in softball with the privilege to live next door to a park. She stayed very athletic with her friends in the open fields and having the responsibility of organizing and planning games for her and her friends to partake in. From then on, at that young age, she knew she wanted to be a coach, Her first coaching job came to her when she was 19 years old as a JV basketball coach. Her first softball coaching job came around when she was 22 as a varsity high school softball coach. She mentions the challenge of being so close in age to the players and the work it took to get her team to stay responsive to her coaching.
She later found her current home at the University of Oklahoma and has been there for 18 years with great success. Coach Gasso shares her favorite softball moment to be with her family after grabbing the National Championship. She treasures the moment she shared with her family immediately after the game in the field.
She gives God credit and thanks for giving her the amazing opportunities she has had in her life. Coach Gasso cherishes chance to share her story with others and hopefully give others the same opportunities she has been blessed with.
