This drill will provide muscle memory for catchers to remember to bring the ball and glove to their ear when approaching a throw for optimum power and speed.
Throwing with a partner works best for this drill.
Begin standing about 40′ to 60′ apart with toes facing the players partner.
Throw the ball to your partner without moving your feet, rotating your upper body and lining up your shoulders with your target and throw.
When the ball is received the partner will drive the ball to the bare hand back and up to the right ear and the proceed to throw as explained before.
