V-Drill – Hitting Drill

Fastpitch Drills

This drill is used to develop lead arm extension and the sensation of unloading the wrist properly to deliver the bathead through the zone with a snap and not a drag.

Set up using a tee or soft toss and having a mini bat is preferred.

The batter will set up his/her hitting stance using only the lead arm (with the mini bat or chocking up on a regular bat) positioning the barrel of the bat next to his/her back shoulder.

When making the swing, lead with the knob of the bat towards the ball (making a “V” with your wrist and the bat) then release the barrel to drive through the ball, letting the wrist roll only AFTER impact with the ball.
